Phillips Pellet Holder

| Since I received my new Beeman R1 in .20 caliber
for hunting, I didn't want to throw just any home made pellet holder on
it, so I splurged and picked up a Phillips Pellet Holder for .177/.20
pellets from Airgun Express. It was reasonably priced at $10.50 plus
shipping. I mounted mine like in the pic above except that it is on the
opposite side. It's very soft foam and holds the pellet well. At first I
though they might fall out as the pellets went in it real easy, but I
loaded it up with 20 pellets and shot it several times and banged on the
side of the stock with my palm, and the pellets stayed put. It's really
nice to have a pellet holder on your air rifle when your hunting,
especially if your using a single shot like I am. This way you don't have
to fumble around for pellets in your pocket or try to palm a couple in
your hand.
The Velcro straps were really handy, and even though I got it very tight and the pad wasn't flat any longer from the radius of the side of my stock, the pellets still stayed in real nice. To shorten the straps, I just cut them with a razor knife, then took a lighter and heated the ends where I cut. This caused it to harden up on the ends and keep from fraying. The only problem I can see with it, is because the foam is so soft, when I would go to get a pellet out, I would push my fingers in a bit and pull a pellet out. Well, my fingernails actually put cut marks in the foam. I don't have real long fingernails, but around all the pellet holes, there are small cuts now. I don't think this will be a problem, but in the long run it may be. Guess I'll have to keep my nails trimmed way back to prevent this from happening. I think a bit harder foam would have been better for this design. Overall, It works out perfect, looks really good on the air rifle, and the functionality of it couldn't be better. A fast, convenient pellet whenever you need it is right at your fingertips. Thanks to David Phillips for coming up with this great product.
