Industry Brand B3-2 Review

| I bought my B3 .177 caliber from a Cummings tool
sale that came through town for only $20.00. Add a couple tins of
pellets for $3.00 and I was set.
After checking the Shanghai website where it is manufactured, It stated that the gun shoots 450fps. This is a lot lower than other websites claim the gun shoots (900fps). I believe that 450-500fps is about right. The stock of the B3 comes in a painted and varnished orange color (kinda ugly, but not too awfully bad). It has a Monte Carlo stock, only visible from the left side for right handed shooters only. The front sight is riveted on, so there's no taking it off, unless you cut it off. The rear site is a micrometer type that is removable with 1 screw. This is an under-lever cocking rifle. It takes about 35lbs. of force to cock it. I noticed on my gun that it had a synthetic seal and that the seal was flaking a bit. Doesn't seem to make a difference though. The seal connects tightly with the barrel. I also had a problem with barrel droop on this model. This seems to a problem with some of these Chinese rifles and other makes as well. After mounting a scope on it, I was shooting low, even with the scope adjustment backed out all the way. I'll have to make the ole 2X4 correction on this model also. This rifle is also very heavy. I'd say around 8 or 9lbs. The under lever cocking system adds the extra weight to it It's not bad for backyard plinking, but you wouldn't want to carry it around with you for very long. The trigger pull on this model is a bit hard also. I'd say about the same as the KL-B3 Fast Dear. It takes about 6.5lbs. of pulling force to shoot. It tends to pull the rifle to the left when shooting because of this, so attention to squeezing slowly helps out a lot and with practice, you can get fairly good groups. Also, forget about hunting with this rifle, unless your into shooting chipmunks and field mice. It doesn't have enough power to take down much of anything. For target shooting, it's not bad. It does hold a fairly good pattern of about .7" in 20yds. which I consider good for a $20.00 gun. This is a great rifle to get for beginners, but not for children or younger teenagers. It's too heavy for the kids. However, for a first air gun, you can't beat it. Affordable, shoots well, easy to load. Reviewed by Robert Fischer |
