Crosman 1077W Review

I bought my Crosman 1077W from BB Guns For Sale Online. I decided I wanted to pay the extra for the wood stock instead of the synthetic stock since I didn't want to rifle to be too light and I like the look of the Walnut stock better. The rifle arrived double boxed and in excellent condition.

Even with the addition of a wooden stock, it's still light as a feather. You can hold it, aim and shoot with one hand. The wood stock probably only added a 1/2 pound or so. A synthetic stock rifle weighs just under 4 pounds. When I first looked at it, the finish almost looked too good. It's perfect in fact. At first I thought it must be some kind of laminate finish and not "real" wood. But after closer examination, it is a real walnut stock. It's the most beautiful stock on an air rifle I have seen yet as far as flaws in the finish is concerned.

Everything on this rifle looks precision and crafted very well. The barrel is shrouded with a rifled tube through it. The front sight is fiber optic green. The rear sight has adjustments for windage and elevation. They are not micrometer type. You have to loosen a screw to adjust windage. It has a dove tail on it and is made of plastic. It's 4" long. Even though it's made of plastic, the dove tails on these Crosman rifles are usually accurate and straight. The trigger, ammo clip, & trigger guard are also made of plastic. The trigger feels like a 3 stage trigger. You can feel it at each stage and know exactly when it's going to fire.

The rifle is only 37" long, but is very accurate with open sights. It's also a 12 shot repeater. YES! And it truly does shoot 12 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger and with no recoil at all. The 12 shot fits in a clip under the rifle and locks in. Then the clip just snaps in place. That's a really nice feature and reminds you of a fire arm semi-auto with ammo clip.

It takes a single C02 cartridge just under the barrel. A large heavily knurled knob crews off and you insert the C02 with the small diameter first. Then just screw on the knob firmly. I haven't checked to see how many shots I get from a single C02 cartridge yet, but I have put 4 clips through it so far without a problem. I plan on adding the bulk adapter later. You can pick them up from between $30.00 - $40.00 dollars and then you can shoot 400 consecutive shots through it without loss in velocity.

You can also purchase extra clips and speed loaders for this rifle. A clip with 3 speed loaders runs around $8.00. Or you can buy just the speed loaders for around $5.00 per 3.  I've heard that a bulk adapter let's you get a bit more velocity also. Stock, the rifle gives you 625fps. That's not bad. My little Daisy gives 675 at 10 pumps, but pumping gets tiresome. I might even let C02une work on this to see If I can get some more power from it later.

I had no problem spending $99.00 for this rifle. It's going to be tons of fun. I'll also try it at rabbit hunting. No need to reload, and I can probably get off a few shots before they know what hit em. I have been to the Crosman 1077 forum, and others have hunted with these rifles with great success. I'll be letting you know how it works out.
